In asphalt pavement construction, this roller is typically used in the recompaction stage (following pavers and initial compaction equipment):
The front steel wheel first preliminarily compacts the asphalt mixture through vibratory compaction to establish basic density.
The rear rubber tires, utilizing elasticity and adjustable tire pressure, apply composite forces of “kneading, pressing, and squeezing” to make aggregates rearrange and fill gaps. Meanwhile, the friction between rubber and asphalt prevents material displacement (especially reducing “bulging” for high-temperature asphalt mixtures).

Their cooperation ensures a compaction degree of over 96% and optimizes the pavement’s impermeability and durability.
